Making Money With Craigslist
August 9th, 2008 by Scot, under Craigslist, Making Money. 22 Comments

Affliliates have been making money with Craigslist for so long it’s almost not worth getting into the space and wasting your time. If you’ve ever taken a moment to look through Craigslist, you’ll notice any of the personal listings for dating are littered with affiliate links and other spammy crap.
This is good for you. If you have some time to employ a system that works, your competition is easy and lazy. There is still money in Craigslist to be made, I promise!
So, with spamming Craigslist you have a few options. You can go wide and long like most of the other affiliates and just post your spammy links throughout the site… or you can take a few extra minutes to do it right and actually make some cash money. There is a way to do both and make $xxx per day.
Making $xxx per day with Craigslist with just a few minutes of work
Step One: Sign up with an affiliate program.
If you aren’t already an affiliate with any of the major companies, it’s time you joined. You can’t make affiliate money without belonging to an affiliate program obviously. The easiest way is to simply apply for an account. For this tutorial I’m going to be using Azoogle.
Looking through the offers, I’m going to be promoting either Adult Friend Finder which earns $4.40 per free registration, or Fling at $2.20. the difference is Fling allows for e-mail sign-ups which will be to my advantage. The key here is to find something that is free.. Paid subscriptions just don’t perform well on sites like Craigslist.Use Sub-ID’s for different cities so you can track your performance.
Step Two: Redirect your affiliate link
Redirect your affiliate link through CPanel redirect domains or with a manual 301/PHP redirect. You don’t want to be sending an affiliate link back in reply or it’s going to look scammy/spammy. I’ve bought a domain just for this.
Step Three: Setting up the auto-responder (most important part)
Create a G-Mail account with whatevername@gmail.com. The most important thing to do afterward to automate the process is setting up an auto-responder. This is going to be the most delicate part of the entire job.
The auto-responder should say something like the following: “Hey guys I’m not on e-mail today, you can reach me at fling (if you don’t have an account it’s free) my username is ____“. Or, an autoresponder that says “Hey cutie, I like that idea. Add me on fling I’m getting off e-mail, if you don’t have an account it’s free, when you sign in my username is ____“. Using the affiliate link we setup earlier of course. It’s important to offer a “username” to make it seem more legit.
Step Four: Create a personal listing on Craigslist.
Create a personal ad on Craigslist in a larger city. Put a picture of a reasonably looking girl.. not so hot that it looks like spam, but not so ugly that she will not be interesting to potential jerk-offs. Type the ad copy up in a way that mentions a few local places so it reeks of genuineness.
If you create one ad you can create 50 and just edit a few variables to make them match up locally with wherever you’re posting. Find a local apartment complex in an upper-side of the city by using Google (Atlanta apartments, Atlanta bars, etc etc will bring you a slew of results for your ad copy) “Live” in that apartment complex, and be “going out” to that bar for the weekend. Get the jerk-off to send you an e-mail. The biggest point here is to MAKE IT LOCAL and CUSTOMIZED for wherever you’re posting.
Afterword
Once the ad copy is done, the rest is magic. The automated e-mail will respond with your affiliate link and the moron will register to see your profile on Fling. This traffic is desperate traffic… Desperate traffic is easy to monetize. Oh, and don’t ever log back in to your e-mail account because you don’t want to see 500 penises. Unless you’re gay.
