Stop! Yammer Time!
December 15th, 2008 by Scot, under Making Money, Revvenue Toolbox. 3 Comments
Heard of Yammer?
If not you’ve at least heard of Twitter. Yammer is Twitter for private groups (intranet-specifically). Yammer works the same way except it lets you interact with your group: share files, links and bounce ideas in real time.
My friend Stu from PimpMyPagerank sent me an invite to a new group he’s starting with people who work online as a hobby or a full-time job.
Stu writes:
“So Pimp”, I hear you ask, “How do I become one of the cool kids of SEO by joining your Yammer Group?”
Well I’m glad you asked!
Simply send us an email at yammer@pimpmypagerank.com, with your real name and your preferred user name for the network, and we’ll set you up, and email you back in a jiffy with your login details.
If you’re in to making money online– and are half-decent at it at least, you need to join DaPimp’s Yammer group! Stop by and say hey, chances are I’ll be in there as well.
Stu will create an account for you with a specific e-mail address, and you can join in on the conversation immediately. So what are you waiting for? Send Stu an e-mail! It’s always good to work around other like-minded people, and you may pick up a few tips/tricks in the process.
Referral Bombing
October 10th, 2008 by Scot, under Making Money, Revvenue Toolbox. 3 Comments
For the Webmaster
Nothing catches a webmaster’s attention more quickly than a referral domain sending traffic to their website. If you’re like me, I like to check my referring stats at least once a day to see who is sending traffic my way.
For Free Links
Have you ever seen a website that tracks and ranks the number of referrals to that particular page or domain? Lots of sites (image and video hosts mainly) have this to give some love back to who sends them the most traffic.
There are thousands of pages out there with free link-love just waiting for you to take advantage of the opportunity to inject your URL! Many of them are do-follow links with high PageRank.
Handing Them Out
If you’d rather assign a casual referral to every page you visit, there is an extension for Firefox called RefControl that allows you to enter whatever domain you like and will automatically drop it as a referral on any page you’re viewing online.
Lets get a bit sneaky with this trick and let our browser do the work while we’re away!
Autoit is a program (free!) that lets you create a “video” of sorts or macro, (with a few lines of code) and it will automatically replay that action over and over again for you automatically while your browser is open and running (while you’re sleeping). Combined with Stumbleupon, you can easily target any niche you like (using Stumbleupon as your pilot) and let Autoit drop your referral information throughout repeatedly. (You can find tutorials out there for programming Autoit and when I have some more time I’ll personally take a look into it but it seems a bit more advanced than what I had originally thought when I looked at it for the first time).
Referrals en masse
Just dropping one referral won’t get you on any of those “Top Referring Sites” lists. So, we need to do something a little more drastic to reverse-engineer these little boogers. In comes MagicTraffic Robot.

MagicTraffic Robot simply allows you to enter any domain for a target and any domain for the referral, and once you click submit you can spam to your little heart’s content. Pretty handy!
Wait for Revvenue Tools to be released, I have a copy of MagicTraffic Robot that will be included in membership. If you haven’t signed up already to be notified when it goes live, do so now! If you’re already a member of Revvenue Tools Beta, this program is available for download now.
A+ For LiquidWeb
October 5th, 2008 by Scot, under Revvenue Toolbox. 1 Comment
Still working on the Revvenue Toolbox, I installed a script to automatically crop thumbnails with PHP’s GD Library.
I’ve had a VPS Server with LiquidWeb for a while now after my shared hosting at MediaTemple just got over-crowded. Since then I’ve only really ran Wordpress installations so there wasn’t much need to contact support for any reason.
My first real contact with support was early this morning at 2:00am, and I must say I’m pleasantly surprised. I sent an e-mail and asked to install GD lib for me and got an e-mail from Daniel Wells who said he would have GD installed within 30 minutes.
Less than 30 minutes later I got an e-mail from Daniel and GD was up an running.
If you’re looking for a VPS at a reasonable rate, I have to recommend LiquidWeb… I’m very pleasantly surprised with the level of customer support– and the up-time/speed is great too.

Revvenue Tools
September 18th, 2008 by Scot, under Making Money, Revvenue Toolbox. 2 Comments
My post frequency has slowed a bit lately as I have been working on a tools section of the website. I wanted to create something that will be useful for other people like myself who want one place to download scripts, e-books, and other tools that will help you make more money online.
I wanted to create something that would allow for a more closed space to share tips that shouldn’t be talked about in public– tips that may give you a competitive edge to make the money before it’s saturated.
I’m going to be opening this up to all readers soon (including a big advertising push), but will be starting a private beta before the initial launch. If you’d like me to e-mail you when this toolbox launches (within the week) please sign up below! I don’t want to hype this up but you seriously won’t want to miss out on this.
